Good morning Barb,

September 4, 2009

How are things going with all the pups? You must be intoxicated on puppy breath by now....

We were not able to get away camping this week but we did take off yesterday for a picnic with Kendall. You can see us hiking in a beautiful setting at a conservation area. (Eugenia Falls) We had our lunch there. Then we headed up to the beach at Meaford on Georgian Bay. Check out her sandy nose. She had a fantastic day. Meeting and greeting so many people. Everyone wants to meet the Saint pup and ask so many questions. Usually about size, big feet and how much does she eat. The seat belt harness is working out great. She can look out the window, lay down and can see us while at the same time being secure and safe. She does not mind wearing it and sits patiently while I put it on her. For such a young dog, she is so co-operative. Don't worry, we were not driving with her head out the window. It was such a perfect day. Not too hot and Kendall got to do one of her favourite things - going to the beach. She slept all the way home and all evening.

This week we had our first bag of adult large breed food delivered.(chicken & rice) and I am mixing that in with the remainder of the puppy formula. So by next week she will be 100% on the adult formula. She is growing so fast. Another big weight gain this week. So at 22 weeks she is 76.3 lbs. I do feed her 3 times a day. I am here and this way I am not overloading her tummy. I had to be so careful with Annie and bloat. Old habits die hard. She has been going through a fearful stage for the last couple of weeks. Mostly to do with certain noises. I know it is common to have different stages where they do become fearful. Hers is very specific. Surprising in one way because she has always been so carefree about anything new or loud. We are basically just ignoring it and hoping it will pass. She can walk past loud farm equipment and not bat an eye. But yesterday for the picnic, I poured a tray of ice cubes into the water jug and she ran from the room. Seems silly but that's our girl. Yesterday hiking, She was so eager to explore. Never had been there before but again nothing bothered her. Not the sound of the waterfall or the loud boats at the marina. Funny isn't it.

Shel is so excited about coming to pick her pup next week. We write several times a day and gush over your dogs. She can't wait to see Kendall after she leaves your place. I bombard her with pictures and she can see how much Kendall has grown and matured since she saw her last.(late July) I think she will be shocked when she actually gets to see her. Then we plan a visit in the fall when her little Saint comes home with her.

I will send a few more pictures of our outing yesterday.

Hope all is well,

Sue & Kendall

Hi Barb,

August 23, 2009

Our little girl is growing up and with that goes more freedom. At 20 weeks she weighed in at 68.6 lbs. She has some serious duties now. As a camper it is not all fun. She is now the co-pilot and navigator as you can see in the pictures. She did fall asleep sitting up though...It was her job to get us home from London this week where we were camping. And she has graduated to a bra (aka seat belt harness) She accepts everything you offer her. Sits patiently while I put it on her. even before she knew it meant a car ride...

She enjoys a good came of catch. She is now consistent catching a ball. She has total freedom in the house. I do crate her overnight though or if I am going to the store..I don't have to remind her about potty calls either. Kendall makes sure she barks loudly to let me know she wants out. If I go outside without her she runs from room to room looking out the window to find me. All I can see is this adorable face framed in the window pane and I am back in to get her. Who could resist...

This week she had a bath. Another one of her favourite things to do. Loves to be brushed too. Loves to play with her toys either with you or on her own. Her stuffies are her favourite. She has not met a person or a dog that she didn't love. Quite the social butterfly this one. Her adult teeth are coming in nicely. Right now her mouth is sore with both top canine teeth coming through.

Take care,

Sue & Terry

Hi Barb,

August 14, 2009

This week's pictures are with the grandchildren. We spent three days camping with them. Two are 7 years, 1 six year old and 1 five year old.. Kendall was pretty tired after they left. Kendall is so calm and gentle with them. That's one thing everyone remarks on - what a calm puppy and then the next comment is "look at the size of those feet". Unfortunately the beach was closed due to a high bacteria count. That would have been fun. We weighed Kendall yesterday. Big gain ---6 lbs. She is now 65.5 lbs. Hope all is well with you and Emily and the wonderful puppies. Looking forward to pictures.

Take care,

Sue

Hi Barb,

July 28, 2009

Yesterday I spent the afternoon and evening with Kendall. I am hopelessly in love with her. She is such a doll, a perfect puppy, and I couldn't love her more if she was my own. Kendall gives the sweetest snuffles and gentle head butts. She would press her muzzle gently into my neck, snuffling and snorting, giving kisses while nibbling ever so gently on my ear. She is so confident and outgoing, attentive and curious, calm and mellow. Kendall met our Newfs, Mary and Oliver, and took a special shining to Ollie. She was fascinated with our cat, who was equally enamoured by her. We had the most wonderful day together. I've included some photos of Kendall at 16 weeks of age.

Take care,

Shel

Hi Barb,

July 22, 2009

I love taking photos of Kendall. She is just so gorgeous. And just the perfect fit for our family. In these pictures Kendall is sampling my flowers. And the third picture is her innocent look - Who me?? I'll have to have a talk with this girl. Flowers are my other passion... I get a countdown from Shel every day for delivery day of Emily's puppies. I told her I was checking into a squeeze proof suit for Kendall when they meet next week. Can't have Kendall's eyes pop... :) By all means, get as much sleep as you can because you will definitely need it... Ahh puppy breath once again... Looking forward to taking Kendall camping again starting Sunday. It takes forever to go on a walk because everyone wants to meet her. And the first thing they say is 'look at those feet'. They do seem huge...

Bye for now...

Sue
